Fight the good fight of faith. I Tim. 6:12

If ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; ... those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. Num. 33:55

Fight the good fight of faith. I Tim. 6:12

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God

1. to the pulling down of strong holds;

2. casting down imaginations

3. ...and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. II Cor. 10:4, 5

Brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Rom. 8:12, 13

The flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal. 5:17

I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Rom. 7:23

We are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Rom. 8:37

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. Lam. 3:27

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Prov. 22:6
We have had fathers of our flesh, which corrected us; and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Heb. 12:9, 10
Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. Psa. 119:67, 71
I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jer. 29:11
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. I Pet. 5:6

...looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Heb. 12:2

Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Heb. 12:1, 2

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23

Whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:33

Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness. Rom. 13:12

Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. I Cor. 9:25, 27

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phil. 3:13, 14

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD. Hos. 6:3

Thou God seest me. Gen. 16:13

Thou God seest me. Gen. 16:13

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether... Such knowledge is too wonderful for me: it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Psa. 139:1-4, 6

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Prov. 15:3

The ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. Prov. 5:21

God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. Luke 16:15

The eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. II Chron. 16:9

Jesus ... knew all men, and needed not that any should testify of man; for he knew what was in man. John 2:24, 25

Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. John 21:17

As thy days, so shall thy strength be. Deut. 33:25

When they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. Mark 13:11
Take no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matt. 6:34
The God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God. Psa. 68:35
He giveth power to the faint: and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Isa. 40:29
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. II Cor. 12:9, 10
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phil. 4:13
O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength. Judges 5:21

Let us go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.Heb. 13:13

Let us go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. Heb. 13:13, 14
Bearing his reproach...how many are not willing to bear that?
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. I Pet. 4:12, 13
How many Christians DO think it strange when they are tried in fire?
As ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. II Cor. 1:7
How often do we look forward to that consolation???
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. I Pet. 4:14
reproached! for the name of Christ! am I hiding it in my life? that is, that I am with Christ? Peter at the Crucifixion was not happy to be named as 'with him'...but now he is and so am I!
They departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. Acts 5:41
Rejoicing that they were counted worthy! Glory to God.
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. Heb. 11:25, 26
Ah! thank you, Moses, for your prudence and testimony to me! Thank you God for Moses!

The righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe. Rom. 3:22

He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Cor. 5:21
Oh, thank God for making us 'righteousness'--righteous!
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. Gal. 3:13
redeemed!
Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. I Cor. 1:30
"Christ is all I need"
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Titus 3:5, 6

I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. Phil. 3:8, 9
What do I so vigorously pursue in my life? the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus--my Lord!

The Lord is at hand. Phil. 4:5

The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. I Thes. 4:16-18
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly; Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Rev. 22:20
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. II Pet. 3:14
Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. I Thes. 5:2-24
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts; for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. James 5:8

Hope maketh not ashamed. Rom. 5:5

I am the LORD: ... they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. Isa. 49:23

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. Jer. 17:7

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength. Isa. 26:3, 4

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. Psa. 62:5, 6

I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed. II Tim. 1:12

God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us; which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus. Heb. 6:17-20

This God is our God for ever and ever : he will he our guide even unto death. Psa. 48:14

This God is our God for ever and ever : he will he our guide even unto death. Psa. 48:14
O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. Isa. 25:1
The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance, and of my cup. Psa. 16:5
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness, for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psa. 23:3, 4
Thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psa. 73:23-26
Our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Psa. 33:21
The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. Psa. 138:8

Every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it. John 15:2

He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Mal. 3:2, 3
...a strong desire for spiritual and personal purity is to invite the Refiner to put us through his purifying fire...I don't know that I need to ask it, He does it in me and for me according to Philippians 1:6; 2:13 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: (Philippians 1:6) For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13)

We glory in tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Rom. 5:3-5

we 'glory' in tribulations? how? the grace and love of God, shed abroad in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us...

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the Father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees. Heb. 12:7, 8, 11, 12

His name shall be called Wonderful. Isa. 9:6

The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14
Thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. Psa. 138:2
They shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matt. 1:23

All men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. John 5:23
God...hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name. Phil. 2:9
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come; and hath put all things under his feet. Eph. 1:21, 22
He had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself...KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Rev. 19:12, 16
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out. Job 37:23
What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Prov. 30:4

Serving the Lord with all humility of mind. Acts 20:19

Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Matt. 20:26-28

Great = minister [servant/table-waiter from diakonia]; chief/BMOC = servant [doulos/slave]

If a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. Gal. 6:3

do you think yourself to be something? likely you are nothing but deceived...'there is none good but God'

I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man.... not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Rom. 12:3

think soberly! that, not to think of one's self more highly than he ought...how ought he to think of himself? 'I am what I am by the grace of God...not of my own works or merit...the grace of God which was bestowed upon me...'

When ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
Luke 17:10

Doing ONLY the things commanded you makes you unprofitable...not making your master or employer any profit...go the extra mile in work, family, ministry = life!

Our rejoicing is this...that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world. II Cor. 1:12

rejoice in simple, trusting faith, godly sincerity and NOT man's wisdom...

We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. II Cor. 4:7

the excellency of the power may be of God...NOT of us...to God be the glory!

Him that was to come. Rom. 5:14

Jesus ... made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, . . . that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Heb. 2:9
what a wonderful, unspeakable provision...that the Son of God would be made man and a little lower than the angels...for what purpose? for the suffering of DEATH...and that he should taste death for EVERY man...hallelujah

One died for all. II Cor. 5:14
As by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Rom. 5:19
The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. That was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
I Cor. 15:45, 46
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him. Gen. 1:26, 27
God ... hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son.... the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person. Heb. 1:1-3
Thou hast given him power over all flesh. John 17:2
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
I Cor. 15:47, 48

Thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption. Isa. 38:17

God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. I John 4:9, 10

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Mic. 7:18, 19

O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Psa. 30:2, 3

When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. Jonah 2:7

I waited patiently for the LORD. He brought me up ... out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock. Psa. 40:1, 2

It pleased the Father, that in him should all fulness dwell. Col. 1:19

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. John 3:35
God hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil. 2:9-11
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. Eph. 1:21
By him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. Col. 1:16
Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. Rom. 14:9
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. Col. 2:10
Of his fulness have all we received. John 1:16

My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word. Psa. 119:25

My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word. Psa. 119:25
If ye ... be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For . . . your life is hid with Christ in God. Col. 3:1-3
Our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Phil. 3:20, 21
The flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal. 5:17
Brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Rom. 8:12, 13
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. I Pet. 2:11

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. John 3:35
Thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. John 17:2
Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? John 14:8-10
I and my Father are one. John 10:30
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:9, 10.

The only wise God our Saviour. Jude 25

Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. I Cor. 1:30
Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? Job 11:7, 8
We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory. I Cor. 2:7
The mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known, by the church, the manifold wisdom of God. Eph 3:9, 10
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shalt be given him. James 1:5
The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be in-treated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion. Psa 65:1

To us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. I Cor. 8:6
All men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. John 5:23
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Heb. 13:15
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. Psa. 50:23
I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. Rev. 7:9, 10, 12

I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thes. 5:23
Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Eph. 5:25, 27
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Col. 1:28

The peace of God ... passeth all understanding. Phil 4:7

Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Cor. 1:8
