Excelling all mortal loves

Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee. Song 4:7

from 'Fairest Lord Jesus':

Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature,
O Thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,
Thou, my soul’s glory, joy and crown.

Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands,
Robed in the blooming garb of spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,
Who makes the woeful heart to sing.

A most beautiful arrangement of this beloved hymn may be heard here: 18Fairest Lord Jesus

The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment. Isa. 1:5, 6

We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. Isa. 64:6

I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing. Rom. 7:18

Ye are washed.... ye are sanctified.... ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:11

The King's daughter is all glorious within. Psa. 45:13

Perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD. Ezek. 16:14

Let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us. Psa. 90:17

These are they which ... have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Rev. 7:14

A glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but ... holy and without blemish. Eph. 5:27

Ye are complete in him. Col. 2:10

I am worthy and made acceptable to the Groom by the Groom's perfecting! All glory, laud and honor to the Lamb, Who is worthy!
