Happy is he!

From Samuel Bagster's Daily Light for the Daily Path Devotional [c. 1875]

...with application and prayer responses by me...

Whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is He. Prov. 16:20

[Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Rom. 4:20, 21

I pray I do not 'stagger' at the promises of God to me and my posterity...God, cultivate a life-message of faith and obedience for Thine own glory to my heritage

The children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers. II Chron. 13:18

Lord, may the children of Troy prevail in their daily life because they rely upon the LORD God of their father!

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Psa. 46:1, 2

Refuge: Something or someone turned to for safety or assistance; a recourse or resort

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. Psa. 118:8, 9

Lord, may it be obvious that I trust in You more than man or 'princes'...

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fail, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. Psa. 37:23, 24

...steps are ordered by the LORD...he shall not be utterly cast down...thank the LORD for his upholding hand to us

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. Psa. 34:8, 9

taste and see = as a potential 'customer', try Him and see! He is GOOD! Blessed [happy/content] is the man/customer that trusts in this LORD! and fear him, ye his saints!
